I was so disappointed in this chair. I had very high hopes for it after reading great reviews and seeing how beautiful it was. Unfortunately, it is a functional disaster. Other than its good looks, I cannot think of a single thing I like about this chair. It is impossible to clean, difficult to move, uncomfortable for the baby, the trays are extremely difficult to remove, and the hydraulics for raising and lowering the chair worked for about a week. Worst of all, when we were finally ready to get rid of it and hoped to sell it online or to a friend, it smelled SO BAD from our attempts to clean out the tiny spaces, screw holes, and other unnecessary food and water traps which had gotten wet. So many times during the use (and disposal) of the chair, I asked myself “WHY WOULD ANYONE DESIGN THIS FOR A BABY??” I finally bought a $35 “Safety 1st” booster seat/high chair and LOVE IT. For about $400 less, it does everything a baby chair should.

Do not buy the Bloom Fresco chair!!!

I love the look of this chair. It’s so much cooler than any other highchair on the market. But that’s the nicest thing I can say about this chair. Nothing about this chair is easy to use. The two trays are impossible to get on and off without a lot of cursing or serious injury – today I pinched myself so hard that I bled trying to get the tray back on. The straps are so bulky that a smaller child is really inhibited by them – my daughter is a year old and they are still too large – I can’t imagine how much worse it would be with a younger child. And the seat liner is made of very porous foam that stained beyond cleaning the first time we used it. This was a gift from a well-meaning family member – I asked for the Stokke Tripp Trapp and as soon as I unload this one that’s what I’m buying. For the price I expected a lot more…

We have had fresco for over 3 years now and used it for both our kids. We didnt realize it could be used as a rocker/lounger in the horizontal position until the 2nd kid but thats a great plus. the middle recline is also really helpful straight after meal time. as soon as the feast is over the king can recline back one notch and enjoy a snooze. overall the chair is really sturdy, cool-looking and lasts the distance. we have taken all the straps off now and our eldest uses it as a desk chair. really inventive.

We bought this high chair because it has the best looks for our home. the Pros: looks great, nice swivel base and height adjustment, actually has 2 trays-very cool, and the recline allowed us to have baby join the meal at a very young age. The Cons: not great to clean! There are more than a few big seams and joints that get crusted with food every meal, the booster portion allows crumbs to fall inside- that was a disgusting discovery since u have to partially dismantle it to find out, and the seat cushion looks neat, but has to be scrubbed like crazy and still stains are left behind! The straps were kinda weird, too.

We wonder if the designers had kids of their own….

We received this chair as a gift– a very expensive and lovely looking gift. Not knowing anything about high chairs at the time, i was so touched by the gesture. Not saying we are ungrateful – high chairs are expensive, and I am glad we have one. The initial good cheer was that we could put our daughter in it at only 3 months. At that time, that seemed great. But then, she started eating. Babies are babies, and they ain’t tidy. It has about a million nooks and crannies where all the food ends up, and it isn’t the easiest material to wipe food away. It is too big, it takes up a lot more space than i would like, and it is quite cumbersome to move… It is lovely looking, but when cleaning up after a 14-month old, it is just so impractical. If i could do it again, i would request the stokke tripp trapp, as it seems to have less “bells and whistles” to get dirty, and all i know is that anything would be easier to move than this beast. If looks is the most important thing to you, by all means, this is an attractive chair. But if you are doing the cleaning up after the tot, i would not recommend this as an option.
